Safety first when handling and/or shipping any cylinder!

Two men were injured in Danville, Virginia, when a halon cylinder they were unloading became a projectile. It's not clear why they had possession of the cylinder, but according to the cylinder came from a fire suppression system (likely Halon 1301) that was dismantled in 1993. Some disturbance occurred and the pressurized Halon was released. The cylinder hit the two men as it propelled through the air. Firefighters found the men lying on the ground, and they were sent to the hospital and treated. Always handle every cylinder as if it were full and pressurized!!! Safety First!
