Fire Extinguisher Accident

Freak accident with fire extinguisher

Posted: Aug 28, 2013 9:33 AM EDTUpdated: Aug 28, 2013 9:33 AM EDT
Tom Orvis of Plainville, Conn., is fortunate he wasn't in the wrong place when a fire extinguisher flew nearly a quarter-mile through the air and into his house. Connecticut officials say a machine operator was cutting beams at a metal recycling company Tuesday and accidentally cut into the extinguisher, causing it to explode. Orvis says he was in the kitchen when he heard a loud noise, and now has a small hole in his roof. The company says it'll fix the damage.

She graduated with her degree in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development in December 2012. Taylor has since decided to join the A-Gas RemTec team full time. She will be focusing on the fire protection side of the business. We want to congratulate Taylor on graduating and welcome her on as a full time employee!

A-Gas RemTec always looks to the local University for part time employees to assist with updating our databases, reaching out to our customers to update their information and finding new leads. We want to welcome Trent Kaufman, Nick Grzebienik, Corine Fonseca, Kathy Suber and Rebecca Barth. We also want to mention our other part time employees that assist with the same tasks: Anita Brooks, Pat Payne and Jane Culpepper. Fire Damages Self-Inspected Property

Carencro, Louisiana - In late November 201, The Daily Advertiser reported that a fire damaged either units in a townhouse complex in Carencro. The complex had had its fire extinguishers and fire alarms annually inspected in February by the complex owner, who told investigators that any problems he had noticed were corrected. During the fire event, however, residents reported that the extinguishers they tries to use did not work properly. It is unclear whether this was from a lack of user-end knowledge or it the extinguishers themselves were not functional.
